Our grandkids Jose and Brianna are staying with us at Ponderosa Thousand Trails campground for 2 weeks maybe. This is their first time to be away for this long from their dad and mom so we will see how it goes. Our friend Harold is teaching them the fine art of pool. Harold granddaughter Monique is staying with Harold and Vickie. Hot here but we are surviving.

Dorothy's cousin Al Lovie and his wife Suzy came to Yuma for a visit before we left for the San Francisco area. They are from Coos Bay, OR and use to the nice cool weather. We had some very hot days while they were here, but they survived. We really enjoyed their visit.

Our Motorhome

This our new to us 1997 Allegro Bus made by Tiffin. It is 37' 10" long with one slideout. It is a 300 HP Cat diesel engine. We are on our first trip with it. We still have the 5th wheel and truck which needs a few small repairs and then for sale. The MH does not have as much storage or room as the 5th wheel so we are doing some adjustment. It is nice to be able to towthe Jeep behind the MH. We have decided to stay at our membership campgrounds this year and will only spend short stays at Travis Air Force Base.

Sunsets in Yuma, AZ

It's great to be back in Yuma enjoying the great weather and sunsets. We are in short pants and shirts. We sleep with our doors open and use no heat or air conditioner.

Tire blow out on I-5

Unfortunately after leaving Turtle Beach, we got about 100 miles down the highway and had a tire blow out. I Decided to change it myself rather than waiting for the road service to come change it. Sometimes it takes 3-4 hours for them to get there. It was on the traffic side at noon time when the traffice is the highest. It took 2 hours to change it since I could only do it when there was a break in traffic. We went to Wasco Elks and decided to stay there until I could purchase 5 new tires. I did not want to chance another blowout. It took us 6 days to get them at Costco. We had decided to get all new tires when we returned to Yuma. It just happened a little sooner. My friend Richard had givne us a fender last year which we will use as the Automate facory is out of business.

Turtle Beach Campground, Manteca, CA

We decided to stop at Turtle Beach Campground to visit with our friends Hank and Danielle. We had not seen them for a while. This is the firest time we have visited this campground. We had only signed up for one night but decided to spend 3 nights. Nice area right on the river. We will go to this campground again next year.
