My cousin Barbara, husband Bill and Daughter Sandy came one day and had lunch with us. They live in Renton, WA. We always enjoy seeing

This is Vera and her husband Jesse. (In the red Shirt) They live in Shelton, WA. Vera has been a friend for the last 40 years. Her ex-husband Paul and she were stationed in Taipei, Taiwan in 1969. The little red car is Veras' and she loaned it to us so we did not have to drive our big truck. Jesse is a great guy and we really enjoyed meeting him.

them.

We headed down Washington to Shelton. While there we visited the Washington State Capitol. Not as beautiful as other state capitols that we have been into. Dorothy is rubbing George Washington's nose for good luck. She is also seen talking to the State Trooper trying to get into the Governor's mansion. No such luck!

We drove to Merrymere Falls. It required a 30 minute hike to the falls through an area that is close to being like a rain forrest. Great walk and the falls were great.

This is Olympia National Park. We are at Hurricane Ridge which is one mile high. Lots of snow on the mountains. We purchased jackets in the gift shop. A lot colder up here.

This is Fort Worden located near the town of Port Townsend. It is an old Army Fort that opened in 1902 to defend the entrance into the bay leading to Seattle, Washington. We visited the Artillery Museum and the Commanding Officer's house. There is also a picture of the parade field. This is the fort where "An Officer and A Gentleman" was filmed.

These are some of the old buildings in Port Townsend. Today we took the bus into town and walked around and rode the bus the rest of the time all around Port Townsend. 75 cents each for all day on any bus. The stone building is the Post Office, the red brick building is the Courthouse and an old victorian house. Rain part of the day and is due to rain most of the week.

This is Richard and Janet's Truck and 5th wheel. We were on the other side. My memory card in our camera was full and Janet had taken the pictures. Going off the ferry and the ferry coming into Port Townsend.

We are waiting in line to board the car ferry to Port Townsend. Chuck was concerned about driving onto the ferry but it was not a big deal. We took up the space of about 6 cars. Cost $66 for a 30 minute ride. It saved us about 2-3 hours of driving. We are staying at an old WWI and WWII army base called Fort Worden. More to come on that.

Dorothy and her Aunt Kathy are preparing food for Walt and Kathy's 50th Wedding Anniversary Party on July 14th. We got to meet Walt's family for the first time. We had a great time and enjoyed meeting all their friends and family. At the end of the day it was time to kick back and take it easy.

We are in La Connor, Washington. This little town is full of shops and lots of boats. Dorothy and Janet spent almost an entire day shopping while Richard & I played golf in a nearby town. We are at Thousand Trails Campground about 4 miles away. Beautiful area!

On 07-07-07, Dorothy's sister Linda was married in Seattle, Washington area. She was married in Angle Lake Park to Sam Carpenter. The two girls with Dorothy are her sister's Linda and Donna. Linda and Sam with her children L-R David, Mike and Jenny. Then a picture of the wedding party. The weather couldn't have been better.

We took a boat trip on Lake Chelan on the Lady of the Lake II. Lake Chelan is about 50 miles long. We left at 8:30 AM and arrived at the beginning of the lake at 12:30 PM. The mountains and the homes along the way were really spectacular. Upon arriving at Sthekin we took a bus ride up to Rainbow Falls. We arrived back at the town of Chelan around 6:15 PM. It was a long day on the water but very enjoyable. There are usually Bighorn Sheep, mule deer and bear sightings along the way but today there were none. Guess we have to go to the zoo if we want to see animals. We celebrate July 4th at Crescent Bar tomorrow and then off the La Connor, Wa. You can click on any picture and it will become larger.

Our friends (Richard & Janet's neighbors in Yuma) treated us with a day on their pontoon boat on the Columbia River. We spent about 3-4 hours on the river and did a BBQ on the beach. Dennis and Judy have a house in Quincy, WA where they spend their summers. The river was calm and the scenery beautiful.
