One last picture from Leavenworth!

Yesterday, we visited a quaint German town, called Levenworth, Washington, nestled at the bottom of the Washington Cascade Mountains. It was a lovely town with all kinds of german restuarants and shops and shops and shops, etc. Snow was on the moutains and weather was great. Bought cheese, sampled wine and enjoyed the sights.

The tour guide pulled up the horses to the mural to simulate us going into the mural andthen backed up to the mural to show us leaving. Pretty cool. Tomorrow, June 26th, we leave for Crescent Bar Thousand Trails, Washington. Having a great time so far. Love you all!

We are in the town of Toppenish, Washington. The town is an old western town which has dedicated the town to murals. Each year in June they do another mural. This is Indian country. We are staying at the Yakima Indian Nation Campground. We took the horse and wagon tour of the murals. There is presently 70 murals. We saw about 30 of them. Well worth the visit.

We visited the Maryhill Museum. They had outside scuptures and some really great stuff inside. There were several peacocks on the grounds.

We camped at an Army Corps Engineer's campground on the Columbia River. We tried to take a tour of the Dalles Dam but they were not giving tours due to the train that takes you out to the dam not working. We were staying next to the John Day Dam which also did not do tours any more.

This is Richard & Janet, our traveling companions. We all went into a Lava Tube near Bend, Oregon. There were a lot of stairs up and down. Dorothy opted to just go down a little way and returned to the entrance. The tube goes about a mile under ground and under Highway 97. We went about half way and things were not changing so we returned to the entrance. Interesting.

A view from the Lava Bed National Park, located near Bend, Oregon, of the Sister mountains.

This is the view from our rear window on our 5th wheel at Ft Klamath, Oregon. Really nice area but lots of mosquitos.

We are traveling with our friends Richard and Janet. We also picked up a couple of hitchhikers. These two young ladies are traveling from North Bend, Oregon to Wilmington, North Carolina via a tadem bike. They expect the trip to take 2 1/2 months. Lisa (the mother in Yellow) and her daughter (16) Anna were near the entrance to Crater Lake when we met them. I asked them if they were interested in a ride to the top. They immediately said yes and we loaded their bike into the back of our truck. I know, we should not be picking up hitchhikers but we really enjoyed their company and they would still be pushing that bike up the mountain. They had a chance to relax and enjoy Crater Lake with us.

Today we made a day trip to Crater Lake National Park in Oregon. It is located at approximately 7200 feet. A mountain volcano collapsed right down into the earth. It filled up with water from rain and snow. There is no outlet or springs. It is one of the deepest lakes at almost 2000 ft. There was plenty of snow still in the area. The east road is still closed due to snow.

We are now traveling in our RV. This picture is taken at the Sundial Bridge in Redding California. The bridge is suspended by cables suspended from the tower you see in the background.
